If a career in the beauty therapy or hairdressing industries appeals to you, Motherwell College's Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing Department offers a great range of courses and stunning facilities to help you train in the latest techniques. Once you have completed your studies, you can consider careers in a beauty or hairdressing salon, health spa or cruise liner, as an in-flight therapist, senior therapist, salon manager or start your own business.

Aspiring beauty and hairdressing practitioners should look no further than Motherwell College's Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing Department for an exciting variety of courses, from Access level to HND, with a wide range of qualifications in alternative therapies also available. Students can expect the support of helpful and friendly staff, ensuring that all of our learners can count on a top-class learning experience.
In addition to class-based learning, students can develop their practical skills and talents on real customers in the College beauty and hairdressing salons and at regular community-based events. Participation in national competitions and exhibitions is also encouraged, and play a great part in the curriculum, providing our students with real-world industry experience. Our learners also have the opportunity to access specialist courses, such as selftanning treatments and ear piercing, meaning that, once qualified, our students are more than ready to take on the challenge of employment in the industry.
Many programmes are available on a part-time and evening basis. It is also possible to tailor programmes to suit your individual requirements.
The Beauty Therapy Section is also excited to announce that students will now receive training in Hydrotherm massage: the revolutionary 3-dimensional massage technique that has taken the industry by storm. Motherwell is the first, and currently only, College in the UK selected to work with Hydrotherm, ensuring a grade-A learning experience and a unique opportunity to gain an additional qualification.
Former HND Beauty Therapy students have a great employability record upon completion of their studies, with many graduates securing employment in prestigious salons and spas, locally and further afield.
