Get Ready for Work

Motherwell College is a delivery partner of the Get Ready for Work (GRfW) programme.  The College provides all the support necessary for preparing young people for work.

Various elements of the programme include motivation, confidence and communication development.  Learners are also given support to improve their literacy, numeracy and IT skills.  Practical sessions are provided in social awareness, job searching techniques and an opportunity to achieve SQA Employability Units .

Motherwell College aims to work with employers and the young people we support, allowing them to participate in a quality work experience.  The ultimate aim of the programme is to assist unemployed young people into employment or progression into apprenticeships, training or further education.

The GRfW Scheme is about young people developing the practical skills to compete and contribute in the world of work. GRfW is a great programme for participants to get a taste of what it’s like to be employed, and an opportunity to learn what skills are required to succeed.

It’s hard to get a job with no experience - and you can’t get experience without a job.  To this end we hope to engage employers to support our GRfW programme.
