January 2009 courses available now
Motherwell College's Care Department continues to go from strength to strength and students considering studying Care will be pleased to know of some recent developments.
The Department has been further developing links with employers in 2007 and will continue to do so into 2008. As a student this means you can expect excellent work placements and a stronger chance of securing employment on completion of your studies. At the end of the course you will have the opportunity to attend an event where you will meet prospective employers face to face - what better way to get your career on track!
The Department prides itself on using a diverse range of teaching and learning techniques to ensure you have an enjoyable and rewarding experience as a Care student. Many new and innovative resources have been introduced to reflect the current trends within the health, social and early years sectors. If you are interested in working in the field of child-care, the early years team within the college will provide learning experiences which include placement, development of knowledge and skill and the opportunity to engage in practical activities. Students have enjoyed 'taking learning outdoors' where they have been involved in exploring the natural environment and participating in den building. Health and Social Care students have the opportunity to develop practical skills and undertake first aid training prior to their placements.
The Care Department twins highly qualified teaching staff with proven industry expertise. In 2007, staff continued to enhance their skills and knowledge by gaining further professional qualifications in their relevant fields alongside maintaining association with professional bodies.
