Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA)

ATA is a voluntary assessment programme for Technicians working in the automotive industry. It has the backing of major vehicle manufacturers and independent service and repair organisations.

ATA is also designed to help vehicle body and paint shops achieve the BSI Kitemark (PAS 125) and is governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). ATA registered technicians sign and are bound by an ethical Code of Conduct and are issued with a photo identity card and their details are included on the ATA approved register.

To achieve accreditation, technicians must pass a series of practical assessments and an online knowledge test at our ATA Approved Assessment Centre.

ATA is available in the following disciplines: Panel, Paint, MET, Vehicle Damage Assessor, Refrigerant Handling and Air Conditioning.

Entry Requirements
