Counselling HNC
This course is an excellent route into counselling as a profession or indeed to enhance valuable skills and knowledge for work in the care/public sector. You will explore various approaches to counselling such as Psychodynamic, Humanist and cognitive/behavioural, and the settings in which counselling takes place.
There is no practical placement on this course although units are assessed through practical and written tasks as such practical skills needed in the counselling relationship informs around 50% of the course content.
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are needed, however completion of Introduction to Counselling and Counselling Skills courses advised. Experience of counselling in a paid or voluntary basis advantageous. Undertaking a piece of written work is part of the interview process.
Further Study/Employment
You may register with the British Association for Counselling as a general member (for a fee), progress to HND Counselling or employment in the care/public sector.
