Information Technology HNC
This course is an excellent progression route from the SCQF Level 5/6 course to further improve and develop skills already gained, or an ideal starting point if you already hold a Higher and a good selection of standard grades (including Computing). You will also continue to develop personal and employability skills to prepare you for further progression to an HND course or to seek employment opportunities in computing and IT.
The course includes IT in Business (Databases), IT in Business (Spreadsheets), Working within a Project Team, Software Development (Applications), Database Design Fundamentals, PC: First Line Support, Computer Operating System 1, Computing: Planning, Multimedia: Developing Multimedia Applications, Relational Database, SQL: Introduction and Information Technology: Graded Unit 1.
Entry Requirements
1 Higher, NQ at level 5/6. Work related skills will also be considered
Further Study/Employment
After successful completion of this course you may progress to an HND Information Technology or HND Computing Year 1 or to employment in a junior position in business.
