International Baccalaureate Diploma
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a 2-year pre-university programme for post 16s. Since 1968, over half a million students have studied on the programme.
The IB Diploma is recognised by universities in over 120 countries and is very highly regarded.
As well as the core you have to choose a total of 6 subjects. One subject from each of the following groups:
Group 1 – English A1 – a literature course
Group 2 – Language – a second language
eg French or Spanish
Group 3 – Individuals and Societies
eg History or Economics or Psychology
Group 4 – Experimental Science
Chemistry or Biology
Group 5 – Mathematics – at varying depths depending on ability and likely future use
Group 6 – The Arts (or another from Groups 2, 3 or 4)
Core - Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay and Creativity, Action and Service which help to develop personal potential.
