The excellent transport links from Motherwell ensure that you will easily be able to explore Scotland's beautiful landscapes and many exciting cities.
Motherwell itself has a good range of shops, sporting and leisure facilities, bars and restaurants. There is much to do and see in the area, with a number of historic sites and scenic natural attractions.
The College Campus
The main College campus is surrounded by woodland, with pleasant walks and a bird sanctuary nearby. Shopping, cinemas, sports facilities, clubs and pubs are available locally.
Earn as You Learn
International students are entitled to work up to 20 hours per week to help support living expenses. Part-time jobs may include work in shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels or supermarkets in Motherwell, Glasgow or the surrounding area.
Our International Student support team here at Motherwell ensure that you can complete your studies in a safe and secure environment. Stewart Hall of Residence, a recently refurbished facility, is conveniently located on campus. We can also help you to find local accommodation. Tailored programmes of social and cultural activities will be integrated with your studies.
International Office
The International Office provides a range of useful information on issues such as visas, council tax, accommodation, national insurance and income tax. Additionally, the International Team arranges cultural and social events for International students and the International students have formed an innovative and burgeoning social and enterprise club.
Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme
The Fresh Talent: WISS initiative is a government scheme, unique to Scotland, which allows international students who have qualified to a minimum of a Higher National Diploma, to seek work in Scotland and stay in the country for up to 2 years following their studies. This equips you with much sought after international exposure, excellent work experience and the opportunity to earn a good salary. You acquire increased awareness of the UK business culture whilst developing new business skills and expertise which can lead to improved career opportunities in the future.
