Resounding Success for Motherwell College Students Scottish Premiere of Bare
Motherwell College Musical Theatre students successfully brought the musical " Bare" to Scotland for the first time.
The musical, based on a book, tells a tale about group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school who are faced with issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. This searing, beautiful story is told through a brilliant pop-rock score.
The musical debuted at the Hudson Theatre in LA (2001) and according to playbill.com "Bare" will possibly be coming to Broadway during the 2010-2011 season.
The Motherwell College student production of “Bare” ran at the South Dalziel Studios, a former church in the heart of Motherwell, from 7-12 December - it was a resounding success!
Motherwell College has moved to a new campus at Ravenscraig. Almost 20,000 students and 500+ staff will continue be able to take advantage of the high quality education programmes on offer in the new 21st century £70 million facilities.
