Helping School Leaving
Every year we help school leavers from North and South Lanarkshire progress to further and higher education.
Schools Liason Service
Motherwell College has a dedicated schools liaison service. Through our partnerships with North and South Lanarkshire Councils' Education Departments, we offer a variety of courses to enhance the curriculum for secondary school students. Applications should be made through your school and courses are subject to demand and availability.
Skills for Work
Skills for Work courses give 14 -16 year old school students the opportunity to study practical subjects linked to future careers, gaining a vocational qualification to complement school studies. The College offers Skills for Work courses in construction, financial services, hairdressing and care. These courses also develop the knowledge and skills that will be important in employment and life. Other skills for work courses are now available in a variety of subject areas.
Vocational Courses
A variety of additional vocational options are available to school students either within school or through parttime study at college. These include beauty therapy and hairdressing, automotive engineering, computing, administration, hospitality, manufacturing, construction sport, and occupational health and safety.
Highers
Motherwell College currently offers SQA Highers within some schools. These include Highers in psychology, sociology, drama and care. Other options may be available and we are happy to consider requests.
