Your Tutor

Students will be allocated a course tutor at the start of their course. Tutors will carry out initial course induction and be available for ongoing guidance and support. They will provide the initial contact, to deal with any issues that students encounter during their course.

Additional guidance and support can be obtained from Student Services. Simply drop in to the Advice Centre, or ask your tutor for a referral form.

Student Services Staff are available to assist with any aspect of Student Guidance and Support. Students can contact Student Services staff directly in the Advice Centre, or ask their tutor to arrange an appointment.

Learning and Study Support

A Study Support Service is available to all students. If you are experiencing difficulty with any part of your course, you should discuss this with your subject lecturer or course tutor. Should you wish, they will arrange an appointment with a study support specialist. Study Support Staff are available in the Student Advice Centre in the Main Building - simply call in for an appointment. Study Support is available for all students, whatever level of course you are studying, so remember to use the service.

If you think you need help revising basic skills or planning & organising your work contact Lorna Ashe, Student Support Assistant to arrange an appointment (01698 232470).

We can offer tutorial support either in small groups or individually. Various tutorial programmes can also be accessed on the website.

Additional Learning Needs

If you think you might need additional support for your course because of a disability or medical condition, the college may be able to provide additional support such as note-takers, readers, communication support or equipment such as spell checkers, portable note-takers or tape recorders. Contact your tutor, or the Student Advice Centre for further information.

Co-ordinator Disability and Support: Jeanette Gillies 01698 232305.

Mobile Telephones

To prevent disruption of learning, mobile phones should normally be switched off in classrooms and work or study areas.  If you require to be contacted in an emergency, this can be arranged through Reception, or Student Services.
